He was known as the ‘missile man’. And he inspired a nation for as long as he lived. Former President A P J Abdul Kalam was delivering a lecture at the IIM Shillong, when he collapsed, and breathed his last on 27 July, 2015. He was a teacher until the very end, and his inspiring word will live on forever.
Here are some truly inspiring quotes from our beloved People’s President:
“A creative person is motivated by his or her own desire to excel and not the need to beat others.”
“Dreams are not what you see while you are sleeping. Dreams are those that keep you from sleeping.”
“All birds find shelter during a rain. But eagles avoid rain by flying above the clouds.”
“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.”
“Don’t take rest after your first victory because if you fail in second, more lips are waiting to say that your first victory was just luck.”
“Man needs difficulties in life because they are necessary to enjoy the success.”
“If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.”
A man who was always surrounded by determination and the desire to keep learning and teaching, Kalam was a leader of exceptional wisdom. The nation has truly lost a gem, but it is our hands to keep on the path he has laid out for us – that of hard work and unending discipline.
At Ittisa, we pay our tributes to the remarkable man that Kalam was until his final breath. We also strive to stay creative and hungry for success, in order to build the brighter tomorrow that he had envisioned for the world.
