Our first task was to thoroughly research the segment and identify key audiences we were so far missing to tap. We identified shoppers from Tier 2 & 3 cities to have potential spending power, a penchant for the latest fashion trends and an idyllic following of TV soap stars and film actors. We used social media real time data to identify the most popular stars in the fashion, makeup and jewellery segment and then collaborated with different production houses to give Flipkart exclusive rights to sell these fashion looks. We created look-alike collections based on popular TV serials and blockbuster Hindi movies to drive awareness and simultaneously rocket the sales.
